Starting your new business at the age of 24: My personal guide (Part2)
In the first part of this blogpost “Starting your new business at the age of 24” I highlighted the key points that must be taken into consideration In order to be successful.
As I once said: Work is an opportunity, success is a blessing.
In today’s blog, I will keep on giving things to consider while starting a new business.
1. Be the kind of manager, who manages everything:
It is extremely important to always keep an eye on everything happening in your business. At this stage, every detail matters.
The responsibility is too big that you to tolerate any mistakes.
Being a manager means being responsible for shaping the short and long term strategies as well as supervising the work and handling all sorts of problems. In addition, every key decision crawls its way back to you and you have to know how to handle it.
Some of you might ask: Isn’t that a good thing? Not that much I would say. Being a manager means that you have to get used to handling the stress of work and life simultaneously. It also means that you will be dedicating a considerably huge amount of your time to your work and your work only.
2. Wake up early:
During university breaks, my job as a manager of Horizon Gallery becomes a full-time job.
My morning routine during that time changes adapting to the circumstances of the work I have to get done. I wake up at 7 am
and turn on the TV to watch the news while preparing my coffee.
I like laying on the couch and checking the app “Microsoft news”, which I highly recommend, for tech news. After that, it’s time to check emails, update my tasks timeline, and start brainstorming for what’s coming next. At around 9 am I start writing the blog posts, because I always feel inspired early in the morning.
The afternoon is always the time I make for meetings, YouTube videos recording, and editing.
Waking up early makes your day feel longer and gives you a great boost of energy.
3. Surround yourself with people who are good at what they do:
In my opinion, success is usually related to the people around you. The people with whom you get to shape and exchange ideas as well as the secrets of your work.
Therefore, it’s very important to surround yourself with people who are good at what they do. On the one hand, they will make the work smoother and easier, on the other hand, they will decrease the pressure on you allowing you to stay focused on your management work.
4. Make sure everyone’s interests are aligned:
It’s quite important to manage the differences within the team, and therefore share the common points and discuss the different thoughts and aspects in order to enrich the work.
As a manager, it’s paramount to make sure that everyone is on the same page. This will help make the objectives quite similar and the motivation at the top level.
5. Trust your instincts and have patience:
Last but not least, I highly recommend everyone who starts a new business to be patient. Patience is the key to success. Obviously, and according to the majority of the entrepreneurs, success is not trivial and a quick thing to achieve. Success needs patience and sacrifices.
Never give up, this is my gold advice for today. You have to keep going and try to optimize and learn from your errors just like a dynamic algorithm. Trust your instincts and yourself, because, at the end of the day, it all affects the success of your business ergo your own success.
